Alicia Hubka is currently a graduate student at the University of Victoria. While her primary research interests are in critical theory, adult education, twentieth century literature, and graphic narratives, her current research concentrates on Spectral Theory and its intersections within contemporary North American landscapes. Currently, she is focusing on the connections between haunted spaces and sites of unease or abandonment in popular Canadian ghost stories.
Kelsey Derksen-Hatt graduated with honors from Vanarts Insitiute of Media Arts, Digital Photography program in 2013. In school she specialized in still-life product photography. Through this she learned to read and control the subtle nuances of light to highlight the best attributes of the object she was photographing. She is now expanding her portfolio to include fine art focusing on rural exploration. To do this she is traveling throughout Alberta. Kelsey hopes that during these travels she will obtain a greater understanding of the value that historical sites offer to today's ever changing world. She also really likes pie. Micky Desjardins is presently a film student at SAIT, learning the subtleties of the craft of film making. He is driven by a need to tell stories and believes that the richest stories lie in our collective histories. It is from these stories that we can learn the most. He hopes to hone the craft of visual story-telling after graduation.
